and this is my trip.
This isn't a curated boardwalk with handrails. It's the real Langkawi rainforest — humid, alive, occasionally muddy, always honest. I run this trip myself, small groups only.
One thing to know: this isn't a wildlife tour. I'm a trail guide, not a nature guide — I know the path, the river, and how to get you to the pool safely. If you spot something cool along the way, brilliant. But I won't be naming birds or pointing out medicinal plants. That's not what this trip is.
The reward at the end is a rocky freshwater pool tucked so deep in the jungle that even most locals don't know it exists. The water flows down from Gunung Raya, Langkawi's highest peak — cool, clear, deep enough to swim in. You'll have hours here — swim or just sit by the rocks, cold drink in hand, chatting with the group, playing cards, sunbathing, or exploring the area around the pond. Drinks come cold from the cooler, and I'll set up a hammock too, in case anyone wants to nap before the walk back.
While everyone unwinds, I'll get lunch going at the "Jungle Bar" — set up nearby. Local dish, fresh from the pot, chicken or vegetarian, your call.
